Google's new quantum breakhthrough: Google just introduced a quantum algorithm that could lead to real-world breakthroughs.

Google just cracked open a new era for quantum computing, and this time, it actually could help discover new drugs. After years of showing off speedups on random math stunts, the Quantum AI team dropped “quantum echoes,” an algorithm that’s 13,000x faster than classical methods on real molecular simulations.

If Google’s right, science might never compute the same way again.

From Amazon to Goldman, the C-suites are quietly trimming headcount while AI slips into desks once filled by junior staffers. Chatbots can now handle support queues, code copilots write cleaner functions than interns, and marketing copy spins itself at 3 a.m.

The Stanford Digital Economy Lab clocked a 13% drop in entry-level hiring where AI is most active. Amazon, Salesforce and banks say they expect leaner teams over time, with "scrappier" work output and fewer back-office roles. Goldman Sachs estimates 6% to 7% of U.S. jobs could disappear due to AI adoption.

Mondelez International, the $90B giant behind Oreo and Milka, is betting big that the future of brand storytelling isn’t shot in a studio, but spun up by algorithms.

They just spent $40 million on a generative video engine. The company’s gearing up for a world where cookie commercials write, render, and remix themselves - from holiday TV spots to maybe even the 2027 Super Bowl.
